Following three examples of each, the manuscript flows into a brief evaluation of the resources retrieved from the NCU library, along with an assessment of the reference materials used to research APA style formatting. Finally, the steps taken to research the correct citation formats for the integrated quotes and paraphrases are outlined. A New Theory of Dinosaur Evolution Its not often that a scholarly paper about dinosaur evolution shakes up the world of paleontology and is covered in major publications like The Atlantic and The New York Times. But that is exactly what has happened with a paper published in the British magazine Nature, A New Hypothesis of Dinosaur Relationships and Early Dinosaur Evolution, by Matthew Baron, David Norman and Paul Barrett, on March 22, 2017. What makes this paper so revolutionary? To grasp this requires a quick briefing on the currently existing, widely accepted theory about the origin and evolution of dinosaurs. According to this scenario, the first dinosaurs evolved from archosaurs about 230 million years ago, during the late Triassic period, in the part of the supercontinent Pangea that corresponds to modern-day South America. These first, small, relatively undifferentiated reptiles then split off into two groups over the next few million years: saurischian, or lizard-hipped, dinosaurs, and ornithischian, or bird-hipped, dinosaurs. Saurischians include both plant-eating sauropods and meat-eating theropods, while ornithischians comprise everything else (stegosaurs, ankylosaurs, hadrosaurs, etc.). The new study, based on a lengthy, detailed analysis of dozens of dinosaur fossils, presents a different scenario. According to the authors, the ultimate ancestor of dinosaurs originated not in South America, but in the part of Pangea roughly corresponding to modern-day Scotland (one proposed candidate is the obscure, cat-sized   Saltopus). The first true dinosaur, moreover, is proposed to be Nyasasaurus, which originated  in the part of Pangea corresponding to modern-day Africaand which lived 247 million years ago, ten million years earlier than previously identified first dinosaurs like Eoraptor. More importantly, the study completely rearranges the lowest branches of the dinosaur family tree. In this account, dinosaurs are no longer divided into saurischians and ornithischians; rather, the authors propose a group called Ornithoscelidae (which lumps in theropods along  with ornithischians) and a redefined Saurischia (which now includes sauropods and the family of meat-eating dinosaurs called herrerasaurs, after the early South American dinosaur Herrerasaurus). Presumably, this classification helps account for the fact that many ornithischian dinosaurs possessed theropod-like characteristics (bipedal postures, grasping hands, and in some species, even feathers), but its further implications are still being worked out. On the second day, I ate oat porridge and eggs for breakfast, chicken and soybeans for lunch. Supper included potatoes, pumpkin and beef. For both days, I ate bananas, grapes and apples and drank orange juice in between meals. The source of the foods included groceries and stores. Kales, carrots, potatoes, apples and oranges were purchased from groceries while bread, chicken, rice, soybeans, oats and, beef, milk, pumpkin and eggs were purchased from stores. My experience with the assignment is that I got the opportunity to know the various kinds of foods that are grown and processed in the United States. The assignment also gave me a deeper understanding of natural foods and processed food. I further got to discover that there are many foods on the market that have additives and which pose a threat to people’s health. In general, my experience was explorative. In terms of shopping, I managed to shop differently. I was keen on checking the state of the food and the ingredients that had been used in processing. I read more labels with the aim of comparing the ingredients in similar foods from different processing companies. I was also keen on establishing the kind of additives that had been used for instance for preservation and flavoring purposes. At the sores, I asked more questions. For example, I asked about how the foods were transported from their source to the groceries and stores. I also asked what the storekeepers and gro cery owners did to ensure food remained fresh and in good shape. I further inquired whether other consumers were concerned about where the food they purchased came from. During the process, I managed to change my definition of ‘local’ to include additives. The new definition, therefore, became foods that are grown within the Unites States of America and which contain additives that are locally manufactured.

In Saudi Arabia, as result of the increase of temperature, the environment there is suitable to grow microbes in food and that lead to spoil food, thus occurrence food poisoning. In this research, salmonella food poisoning is discussed and the sources of these bacteria in Saudi Arabia are determined. The research also focuses on the relationship between some of common food with Salmonella, such as shawarma chicken sandwiches. Food poisoning is common among people specially children and oldsters because they do not have enough immunity to resist diseases. There are several definitions of food poisoning but it is simply defined as any illness disorder occur in human body specifically in the digestive system and that because of consuming food or drink which are contaminated with bacteria or toxins. The symptoms of food poisoning are various between people, for example (Gamarra 2008) notes that: The symptoms, varying in degree and combination, include abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, and headaches; more serious cases can result in life-threatening neurologic, hepatic, and renal syndromes leading to permanent disability or death. In food poisoning cases which caused by shawarma, Environmental Health Officers are usually take samples from the final meal that is containing chicken, salads and mayonnaise, and this way is not determine exactly the source of contamination in the meal. Sampling from each type of food separately gives a certain result to know the source of contamination. Likewise, visiting restaurants daily and sampling from all food and workers are also necessary. Preventing irrigation crops by sewage and creating new methods to provide water are the first step. It can be used alternative means of irrigation system which reserve water, such as drip irrigation system, or recycle swamps and sewage treatment system. In restaurant, salad must be washed and soaked in disinfectant solution for minutes because the bacteria, especially salmonella are sensitive to sterile solutions. Using homemade mayonnaise must be stopped decisively; it is preferable to use commercially mayonnaise. For (Omahen 1996), food scientists at the University of Georgia, Center for Food Safety demonstrated that, commercially-prepared mayonnaise actually reduces the amount of salmonella in foods because it has acid which come from vinegar and lemon. That result was approved by small test in lab, when commercial mayonnaise was added to foods inoculated with salmonella; the salmonella cells decreased. When shawarma is preparing, following proper hygienic application is required to avoid spoil. Establishing factories which make swhawarma under sanitary and clean conditions is a significant point. If swhawrma is preparation in home or restaurant, leaving the frozen chicken in the fridge until gradually thaw is the best way to slow bacteria activity. To avoid cross-contamination in chicken must be throwing off of liquid that resulting from the thaw. Shawerma must be kept in refrigerator at 4 c and it is not appropriate disregard it in room temperature more than one hour. It recommended to reducing the shawarma diameter to 20 cm and the weight to 30 kilograms and that to ensure access the flame heat into center. As well as, increasing acid proportion such as vinegar or lemon is salutary because it changes the pH of food thus prevents the growth of salmonella. When hiring cooks, they must have appropriate qualifications and adequate experience in their field. Restaurants license must be restudied again and change some conditions to suit modern life. All the solutions may be effective in reducing the incidents of poisoning, but it can not change one of the most important factors that is hot weather in Saudi Arabia.

Within the first pages of this chapter, we are introduced with the topic of the constitution and actions of Gregory Lee Johnson. The case of Gregory Lee Johnson is about that of him burning an American flag and protesting that when the government became involved, it was against his freedom of speech. This is where the constitution of the United States comes into play and supersedes the ordinary law. The question though, what exactly is a constitution? A constitution is a nation’s basic laws. Essentially it creates political institutions, provides rights for citizens and holds power within the government. The constitution also holds the unwritten traditions and precedents that have been established. Most people do not always agree with how the constitution is written and don’t always agree with how the government is ran, but this constitution is the basis of how all things are ran. Next is the Declaration of Independence. Between 1775 and 1776 there was a tremendous amount of discontent with the English and the Continental Congress was in session for that continuous year. When all the men were coming up with ideas and a basis for the Declaration of Independence, most ideas and propositions were adopted from John Locke who argued that humans have all natural rights and are not dependent upon the government. Later this Declaration was written primarily by Thomas Jefferson and adopted on July 4th, 1776. Essentially this was written to announce and justify the revolution that was happening. Lastly, all the colonists needed foreign assistance to conquest the most powerful nation in the world. Going back to fully understand Locke and his ideas, we take a look at the idea that Locke was one of the most influential philosophers of this time. John Locke built most of his philosophy on the idea of natural rights. Natural rights are rights inherent of people and who are not dependent on the government. Also, John argued that the government should be built upon the consent of the governed, meaning that people agree on who their rulers are. He also argued that our nation should have a limited government so that there are restrictions on what a ruler can do. As Locke was coming up with his philosophy, he came up with a brilliant idea that governments should have standing laws in which people know if an act is acceptable or not before doing it. Now we come to the point of the government the failed. Congress was needed to make a plan for the permanent union of the states and the first plan to the constitution was the Articles of Confederation. The Articles only initially established a legislature with one house which was a big problem at the time and would be a big problem today. There was no president at the time, no national court and the powers were extremely limited for the national legislature. After the states ratified this Article, problems were still proceeding. This included that Congress was only able to maintain an army and navy, no more. All in all, Congress had no power. The only advantage to the Articles of confederation was that when the new Constitution was written, the writers knew the things to avoid. Next was the issue of economic turmoil and the Shays rebellion. After the war, many farmers were left with a debt that could not be paid and were threatened that their farms would be lost. So in order to try and pay this, many printed paper money which was worthless and tried to pay the outstanding debt back. Now the farmers felt a sigh of relief when the Shays rebellion took place. This was a series of attacks on courthouses to prevent the judges from having farmers and their families foreclose on the farms. Now we officially decided to make a constitution at the Philadelphia convention. Fifty five delegates were chosen to write what became the U.S. Constitution. Most these people were wealthy planters or successful merchants and lawyers. Most issue differed in the aspect of debates on big-issues to the self-interest of very small issues. Most men in fact did not share the same political aspect and some issues arose from this. In fact, all these men had a very cynical view point of human nature and believed that men love power. As the words of this document were written,  factions arose up. Factions are parties or interest groups. Most of the delegates believed that if a government is ran by factions, the government would be prone to instability, tyranny and that of violence. So, within the Declaration of Independence, there are three issues that arise. First was the issue of equality. This issue was basically that of states coming up with different plans and hoping it would work. The New Jersey Plan, the Virginia Plan and the Connecticut Compromise were all different in aspects of what should be done. Another issue was that of the economy. The writers of the Constitution committed to a strong national government and agreed that the economy was in complete disaster and disarray. The problem was that paper money was worthless in some states and Congress was having issues raising money due to the fact the economy was in a recession. And lastly were the rights of an individual. The Founders agreed that it was important to safeguard individualism and keep threats away from personal freedom. The Constitution offers protections, including that of upholding the right to a trial by jury and that of not looking at a person’s religion to withhold them from a governmental position. Now we take a look at the ratification of the Constitution. In order for this Constitution to be processed, it needed to be ratified by nine of the thirteen states. But there were problems that occurred for this to be ratified because there were federalists and anti-federalist. Federalists supported the Constitution and anti-federalists did not. This is where the big issue arose. Some of the differences these groups faced were one being that anti-federalists preferred a strong government while the federalists preferred a weak one. The literature produced during this period reflected this wild and free-spirited imagination. The works dismissed the Enlightenment thinkers in their claims of "Reason, progress, and universal truths" (Damrosch, 1317). Instead, these writers explored superstitions and had a renewed sense of passion for the wild, the unfamiliar, the irregular, and the irrational (Damrosch, 1317). Other common elements of the writing during this period were the returned interest of gothic romance elements, a fascination of exploring the inner world of the mind and the unconscious into its dark side, an interest in emotional adventures in exotic and remote times and places, an interest in the outcast people in society (outlaws, rebels, nonconformists, exiles, etc.), and an interest in characters performing dangerous self-explorations that take them to hell, and not always back (Agatucci, 1&3).    Wuthering Heights, by Emily Bronte, is an excellent example of a great Romantic novel, especially of the kind of romanticism known as Dark Romanticism. There are many different Romantic elements found in this novel, making it a masterpiece of the period. These elements include that fact that it is most definitely one strange story that is very original, emotionally charged, and imaginative and innovative (Agatucci, 4); its characters are very intense, passionate, go to emotional excesses, and even become violent; and it deals with the element of the supernatural and the antirational also (Agatucci, 4). Other Romantic elements contained within its pages include its Gothic setting that is sensual but remote, the dark roma... ...d Heathcliff.    Thus, as you can see, this is indeed a very powerful, emotionally charged story that delves into the darkness of the human unconscious, the supernatural forces that surround reality, and the romantic charges that initiate and cause all sorts of different human actions and thought. The story is very strange, but full of adventure, creating a very engrossing reading. From doing this, it allows the instructor to creating lesson plans to try and provide the proper tools needed for the student.This does not only take time from school for the teacher, but it also takes a lot of time from home because there might not be enough time in the day for the teacher to complete the lesson plan so they may have to take the work home. The classroom is a place for quiet learning, and respect for others right to learn. If you have a student who is being disrespectful who has gotten away with being disrespectful, it would be very hard to change it all around. You, as a teacher has to let them know whom it is that is actually in charge. There are strategies that you may want to take to try and assist you in this situation.Try calling home. When you call home and ask to speak to their parents, and even calling home perhaps while standing in front of the misbehaved student, may help to get them to change their attitude for that day, and giv e them the opportunity to accept how they have been behaving. It may also help out by being an example or the other students, so they can behave accordingly as well. Since students are disruptive, (on account to behavior issues mostly), and still you know that some of those students may even have potential aside to their behavioral issues, you may try to even reason with them.Sometimes, trying to have an open mind about what is really causing the student to misbehave may help the situation. Most of the time disruptive students bring so much of themselves to the classroom, because it may be an attention call for inner help. Try to listen to them and see what it is that makes them â€Å"them†, what it is that makes them think, and finding out their interest. By learning and understanding what it is that gives them motivation, could allow you to shape their learning experience, and support how they think, so they too can grow with the classroom.For a student to behave disruptive in a classroom, not only is it extremely time consuming for the teacher, and not only does it make learning difficult for the other students, but it can also be dangerous if it gets too out of control. If you as a teacher had already tried making the phone calls home, tried having that one on one with the student, and tried leveling with the students to the best of your ability using all of the resources that you know, ask yourself, could removing this student from my classroom permanently, help me to provide that environment that I have envisioned for my students?For most teachers, teaching does not just comes as â€Å"a career†, but more as a passion. It is not fair for a teacher to continue to put in his and her all, and have to constantly deal with day to day disruptions when the teacher’s main goal is to initially teach. This does not just go for being a teacher, but it also goes for any job. At any job, who would want to look forward to returning to a daily, out of control negative environment that removes most of your focus allowing you to do your very best?Not only does it affect the misbehaved student, and the classroom but it puts a toll on the teacher as well, the next step would be to have the student removed from the classroom. It is unfortunate because you’ve tried your best in trying to help out the situation within the classroom, you must figure out what other options are left for you to take now. It seems like the only other option would be removing the disruptive student from your class because you have tried your best at everything else, and nothing seems to work. You may have the authority to remove that student from your classroom for the period, the day, or even a few days.If that does not seem to work, you may even have the authority (with a few steps) to have the child removed to another classroom or even another school. I know it would not be something that you might be looking forward to doing, but you also have to consider the welfare of the other students, as well. Mike Ford states that even if students who promote disruptive behavior do get led into suspension, it is detrimental for teachers, staff, culture and of course student learning overall. No. 5, April 2013) Basically, it really is not as easy as it sounds.There is a process of course, but eventually if it takes removing a student from the classroom to assist you as a teacher to provide a better learning environment for those students who actually want to learn, then it should be suggested and ok to do so. Every teacher should know their Disciplinary Code in order for them to become able to assign a range of disciplinary actions, and steps needed to take for every and or any situation if needed. By knowing the code as an instructor, and by using, it can help to teach students how to behave accordingly what is expected of them or else they may have to face consequences.If the student continues to be chronically disruptive, then you as their teacher then have the right by the SAVE Law (Safe Schools against Violence in Education) to take the next few steps in order to bring your classroom back into order, if removing the student from the class is what it takes. In your classroom, you not only work had to organize and arrange your classroom for the order to go, and flow the way you want to, and how you may imagine it to be, and a lot of the times when students are disruptive, a phone call home may just not be the key to fixing the problem.There are students who work very hard and do everything they need to do to learn and better their future. They actually want to learn. Those are the students who do their homework, follow direction, get good grades, study, come to class on time, and overall behave. Why is it that just because other students may feel the need to interrupt a classroom lesson be fair in any way to the other student s who actually want to learn? The students who actually want to learn, have to have their education put on hold every time there is a disruption within the classroom. Then students who actually want to learn end up getting their learning time wasted.You as a teacher, barely get enough time as it is to teach all this information within one entire school year. Do you see why teachers should have the authority to remove a student from their classroom permanently if they need to? There is just only so much a teacher can handle and do all at once. Sometimes if a teacher allows such disruptions to occur within the classroom, it causes other students to follow and then there would not be any respect within the classroom. Respect should be one of the main thing to be enforced from the begging of the school year.Everyone should learn to respect theirselves and each other. Following directions is one of the number one keys to respect. In order to become a teacher there is a lot of sacrifice a nd dedication. As a teacher, you take all the steps there is to providing all you can, to the best of your ability. Removing a child out of your classroom permanently may be the last step you have to take, but you most likely took all the other steps you had to, in order to get your there. Even so, by doing so, you were probably able to regain your class respect, and have things in order again.There are other students who not only need this education, but actually want it, since teaching has always been your passion to do provide that education for them these may be ways to provide that for your learning students. Everyone who have dreamed of becoming a teacher, may not have envisioned having to permanently remove students from their classroom. Nothing ever goes quite as planned, it may even help the disruptive student to either learn his or her lesson, or it may help by providing the attention that they have been looking for after all.Maybe the disruptive student would be sent off into a different classroom, where he or she may pick up more information with other methods from other teachers. Maybe they will learn better strategies from alternative schools. Even though they have been disruptive, it does not mean they would not receive the education that there are also entitled to, but by them no being able to disrupt your classroom anymore, their absence will definitely help you to provide that education to the classmates who were willing to learn.
